Just a heads up

Due to financial and family medical issues, I'm going to have to change the way we eat. We will be following a much more moderate carb, budget friendly plan from now on. I haven't got all this worked out yet, but I will either change the focus of this blog or create a new one to match our new health and budget friendly way of life.
To all my fellow low carb bloggers... keep the fires burning and I wish you the greatest success. To my readers, I hope I'm not letting you down, but for now, this is what I have to do. My family comes first and that means meeting their health and our financial needs.
While I love my low carb lifestyle and it really works for me. Having meat as the center of our meals has become more than I can afford just now. So I'll be adding beans, more veggies and some pasta and grains back in. We will not be eating packaged, highly processed frankenfood, we will continue to eat whole, real, fresh foods. I've just got to cut the budget and the grocery bill is the last thing I can cut back on.
So I wish you all well, I wish you great success and I ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers to make these adjustments as easily and healthily as possible.

Thank you so much Ron. It' means the world to know people understand and don't think I'm giving up. I'm far from that. I'm trying to find a happy medium.
As always, I love your blog and all the wise and humorous things you have to share.

I'll still be reading. There are several people that I read who have had to change up the way they eat to better suite other, more important things that are happening in their lives. I believe in you Vikki and don't consider what you are changing to be giving up at all. I'm in a tight financial situation myself so maybe I'll pick up some good ideas as I follow along. :) Best wishes to you. I hope your mom is doing well.

Thank you so much Oct,
These are tough times and we all have to make changes I suppose. I just hate having to make the changes, but who knows maybe it will all turn out to be the best thing all the way around.
I'll be reading too. I'm not giving up my low carb friends, by any means.
Take care my friend and I hope everything works out for you too.

I'm not going anywhere, I am thinking about changing my 'diet' up a little bit too to cut costs. I hope to still get some yummy recipe ideas from you :) <3

Vikki, you know you have my unwavering support and friendship. I admire you so much for all you do to take care of your family.

Patty, I never doubted your friendship and support for a second, and that goes both ways. There is nothing to admire, we all do for family no matter.

Donna, thank you so much girl, we all have to buckle down in the economy. I just need to find a way to cut cost, and meet all my families dietary needs. Simply right? giggle
I'll be reading and hopefully we can both help each other cut back on $$

Vikki I understand this 100%. /hubby was laid off from Oct 31 until last Monday. You have to do what you have to do. Personally I do not think there is a thing wrong with a moderate carb. There are tons of very successful moderate carb plans and followers.I'll still be reading too. Best of luck!

I'm so glad he's back to work, this is a really scary time as it is, without having our incomes cut.

We're hanging in there and I'm learning quickly just how far a package of ground meat can go...giggle

And truthfully, I don't know if I'll lose weight, but I feel good, I'm not gaining any weight and I'm spending less at the grocery store. So far so good. We're also enjoying the food.

I'm so proud, I got 3 meals out of one pork loin. I made pork fried rice, pork with orange glaze and Hawaiian pork.
